ASHLEY WHEELOCK
Ashley B. Wheelock was born in Arizona and moved to California in 1993. Thereafter, she attended and received her Bachelor of Arts in Classical Studies from the University of California, Berkeley in 2002. She received her Juris Doctorate from The George Washington University Law School in Washington, DC. While in law school, she was a Thurgood Marshal Scholar (Fall 2002) and Murray Snyder Public Interest Fellow (Summer 2004). She was also twice a semi-finalist in the Gilbert A. Cuneo Government Contracts Moot Court Competition (Spring 2004 & 2005).
Ms. Wheelock was admitted to the California Bar in March 2006 and is admitted to the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
Upon passing the bar, she first worked with Manning, Leaver, Bruder & Berberich in Los Angeles from 2006, through spring 2008, where she specialized in civil litigation involving auto dealerships. Upon returning to the Bay Area in June 2008, she joined Burton, Schmal & DiBenedetto where she continued to specialize in civil litigation.
In 2014, Ms. Wheelock left Burton, Schmal & DiBenedetto to open her own practice, The Law Office of Ashley Wheelock. Ms. Wheelock also teaches legal writing at the Monterey College of Law.
Ms. Wheelock is a sitting Board member of the Santa Cruz County Bar Association. She was the 2014 President of Women Lawyers of Santa Cruz County and served through 2017.
Ms. Wheelock lives in Scotts Valley with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys cooking, reading and spending time with her family.
